Die Ammer flötet tief im Grund,
der Frühling blüht mein Herz gesund.
Über die Augen halt ich die Hand,
schimmernd liegt vor mir das Land.
Schimmernd wie ein goldener Rauch,
über allen Dingen ruht ein Hauch.
So still, so sonnig hängt die Luft,
über die ganze Welt weht Veilchenduft.
Über die ganze Welt, ungesehn
leise, leise Sonntagsglocken gehn.
Die Ammer flötet tief im Grund,

Le bruant chante enfoui au sol,
le printemps fleurit mon cœur allègre.
Je tiens ma main au-dessus de mes yeux,
la campagne miroitante s'étend devant moi.
Miroitante comme une fumée dorée,
un souffle se pose sur toute chose.
L'air, si calme si ensoleillé est en suspens,
un parfum de violette passe sur le monde entier.
Sur le monde entier, en catimini,
doucement, doucement, passent les cloches du dimanche.
Le bruant chante enfoui au sol,
le printemps fleurit mon cœur allègre.
