Aleshores dieu, on viu sinó la vida humana, quan l’aflicció, l’opressora, ara tot ho constreny? És per això que, des de fa molt temps, despreocupat, el déu passa també damunt dels nostres caps. Però, per més que l’any sigui fred i mut de cants al temps assignat, dels camps emblaquinats brosten tanmateix brins verds, sovint hi canta un ocell solitari, quan a poc a poc el bosc s’estén, el riu es belluga i, temperat i suau, bufa el vent de migjorn a l’hora escollida, és un signe d’un temps més bo, en el que creiem que, singularment auster, singularment noble i pietós, l’amor encara creix damunt el terreny ferri, feréstec, fill de Déu, només d’Ell. Sigues beneïda, oh sigues-ho planta celestial, gombolada per mi amb cants, quan les forces del nèctar eteri et nodreixen i el raig creador et fa madurar. Creix i esdevé un boscatge! Un món amb més ànima i ple de flors! Que el llenguatge dels amants sigui el llenguatge de la terra, la seva ànima, la veu del poble!
