Willst du einen Ehemann erkennen?
Traurig hängt der Schnurrbart von der Lippe,
Seine Haare hängen wirr vom Kopfe,
Und geht er die Strasse auf und nieder,
Senkt er missgestimmt die Augenlieder [sic],
Als wollt' verlornes Glück am Boden er suchen.
Leichter ist's, den Junggesell'n erkennen.
Fein gewichst das Bärtchen und dressiert,
Und die schwarzen Locken schön frisiret,
Schreitet kühn er durch die breiten Strassen.
Spähend lässt er seine Blicke schweifen,
Nach den Fenstern rechts und links hinstreifen,
Wie der Falk, den in der Luft wir sehen,
Lauernd scharf, die Beute zu erspähen.
