by Hjalmar Robert Gullberg (1898 - 1961)

De fem sinnenas sömn
Language: Swedish (Svenska)
I den trygga famnen sover jag
med uppåtvikta knän
och hakan emot bröstet,
blundande som barnet i moderlivet.
Jag spottade ut betelbladen.
De retade tungan.
Och jag stängde fönstret.
Papegojorna i trädgården
får inte väcka mina öron.
Den söta doften av nejlika
får inte längre kittla näsan.
För känsel och alla sinnen
låser jag dörrarna till yttervärlden.
Min själ drar som en skrämd sköldpadda
lemmar och hals inom sitt skal.
Det minsta kunde störa vilan i Gud.
