Als ihr Bild ich neulich malte, Waren beide wir allein; Und das war auch ganz notwendig -- Mußten ungestöret sein. Als ich da nach Malersitte Bei den Augen nun begann, War es wieder ganz notwendig. Daß wir uns ins Auge sahn. Als ich drauf zum Haar gekommen, Viel zu modisch lag es noch; Malerisch mußt ich es locken -- Ganz notwendig war es doch! So gelangt ich denn zum Munde, Fand zum Malen ihn zu bleich, Und da mußt ich ganz notwendig Rot ihn küssen alsogleich. Und so malt ich manche Stunde, Waren beide stets allein -- Und das war auch ganz notwendig. Mußten ungestöret sein.
