by (Karl) Wilhelm Osterwald (1820 - 1887)

Trauter Genoß lustiger Wind
Language: German (Deutsch)
Trauter Genoß lustiger Wind,
  Woher so geschwind?
Gab dir Grüße mein herzig Kind?
Fährst du so fröhlich daher durch den Hagen,
Antwort zu bringen meinen Fragen?
  Lustiger Wind, woher so geschwind?

Ei wie du wehst mit frischer Gewalt!
  Es rauschet der Wald,
Die Eichen, die alten, verjüngen sich bald:
Neigen die Zweige von hüben und drüben,
Liebliche Spiele der Freude zu üben,
  Deine Gewalt verkündet der Wald.

Kommst du herunter nun, froher Gesell?
  Kräuselst die Well'?
Kehre zurück, grüß fein und schnell,
Daß ihr Rosen die Pfade bestreuen,
Wenn sie meiner gedenkt in Treuen,
Trauter Gesell, grüß fein und schnell.
