by Paul Heyse (1830 - 1914)

Bekenntniss
Language: German (Deutsch)
Spare deine Erstlingsküsse
Für den Liebsten, schlankes Kind,
Denn du weißt nicht, aber wisse,
Daß versagt die meinen sind.

Schmiege nicht, du wilde Taube,
Dich an dieses Herz so fest,
Denn du glaubst nicht, aber glaube:
Längst bewohnt ist dieses Nest.

Lächle nicht! Und wär's mit Schmerze --
Hohe Zeit ist, daß du lernst:
Lächeln darf ich nur im Scherze,
Und du lächelst ach! im Ernst.
