Schuf ich ein Weihgefäß aus edler Erde,
Und barg darin, die einst an dir entbrannte,
Die Flamme, daß sie rein gehütet werde.
Von der empfangnen Brunst errötend bebte
Das Weihgefäß, doch sprang es nicht entzwei.
Kein Funken meiner Liebesglut entschwebte!
Nun nimm es du, daß es dir heilig sei.
