og i engen går små muntre bække,
ler og blinker bag ranunkelhække,
og i aften kommer spillemænd i lunden!

Mor, min lille mor!
Må jeg ikke ta mit skjørt, det røde,
og mit søndagsskaut, det silkebløde,
og mit fine belte, og mit skulder klæde,
og min sølversølje og min halsekjæde,
for i aften kommer spillemænd i lunden!
