Wenn erglänzen Mond und Sterne, Alles heim zur Ruhe zieht. Singen wir dem Schöpfer gerne Noch ein frommes Abendlied, Daß der Gute Tag und Nacht Über uns im Himmel wacht. Friede Gottes weht hernieder, Trägt zum Herzen Ton und Wort. Aus dem reichen Born der Lieder Schö[fen wir im Traum noch fort, Und es wird kein Tag vollbracht Ohne Sang zur guten Nacht. Euch, ihr Lieben unsrer Seele, Tönt noch still der letzte Klang, Schlummert bis der Morgen helle Strahlt zum neuen Lebensgang. Unsern Herzen spät und früh Wahre Gott die Harmonie.
