by Guido (Pieter Theodoor Jozef) Gezelle (1830 - 1899)

O Moedermaagd
Language: Dutch (Nederlands)
O Moedermaagd ,
die Jesus draagt,
die 't Herte ons biedt des Heeren.
om Jesus zoet
wees ons gegroet
en welkom, duizend keren.

Tot in de dood,
vol pijnen groot,
vol grondeloze smerte,
stondt gij getrouw.
o sterrevrouw,
bij Jesus' brekend Herte.

Ach help en doet
ons krank gemoed,
om 's levens wee'n te dragen,
door U geleid,
kloekmoedigheid,
aan 't Heilig Herte vragen.

Dan, kwam er nood,
kwam helle en dood
tot in ons hert gekropen,
nog zullen wij,
van vrezen vrij,
in di twee herten hopen.
