Wie auf dem Strom erglänzt der Strahl,

Ein flimmernd' Spiel von Silberlicht
Erglüht und sprüht rings in den Landen,
Und märchengleich es uns umflicht
Mit elfensüssen Liebesbanden.

Ich halt' dich fest, es kam so heiss
Der Kuss noch nie von deinem Munde!
O Welt, hemm' deines Laufes Kreis
In dieser zaubersel'gen Stunde.
