Mondeszauber

Moonlight witchery
Language: English  after the German (Deutsch)
See how the valley woos the moon! Their kiss the flowers exchange before us; See how the moonlight strikes the stream, And hear the leaves that rustle o'er us. A shimm'ring veil of silver light O'er all the landscape floats around us, An elfin web it weaves tonight, Whose bonds of fairy love have bound us. I hold you fast, and ne'er your kiss So lovingly, so warm, was given! O Earth, take such an hour as this To end thy worldly course in heaven.
From the Nováček score.
