by Heinrich Heine (1797 - 1856)
Translation by Apollon Nikolayevich Maykov (1821 - 1897)

Mein Liebchen, wir sassen beisammen
Language: German (Deutsch)
Our translations:  CAT DUT ENG FIN FRE ITA LIT
Mein Liebchen, wir sassen beisammen,
Traulich im leichten Kahn.
Die Nacht war still, und wir schwammen
Auf weiter Wasserbahn.

Die Geisterinsel, die schöne,
Lag dämm'rig im Mondenglanz;
Dort klangen liebe Töne,
Dort wogte der Nebeltanz.

Dort klang es lieb und lieber,
Und wogt' es hin und her;
Wir aber schwammen vorüber,
Trostlos auf weitem Meer.

В лёгком челне мы с тобою
NOTE: the footnotes have been removed from this text; return to general view
Language: Russian (Русский)  after the German (Deutsch)
В лёгком челне мы с тобою
Плыли по быстрым волнам…
Тихая ночь навевала
Грёзы блаженные нам…

Остров стоял, как виденье,
Лунным лучом осиян;
Песни оттуда звучали
Сквозь серебристый туман.

Песни туда нас манили…
Но, и сильна, и темна,
В море, в широкое море
Грозно влекла нас волна.
