by Assim-Agha Gül-Hanandé
Translation by Bernhardine Schulze-Smidt (1846 - 1920)

Assim spricht
Language: German (Deutsch)  after the Turkish (Türkçe)
Our translations:  ENG
Ihr Blumen alle habt geplaudert
Von Assim's Lieb' und Liebesschwüren,
Von Augentrost und Mundverführen,
Und von den Lippen, die geschaudert,
Weil Assim's Liebe nie gezaudert.

Ihr Blumen, dir ihr duftgesegnet,
Im Garten prangt, o fragt die Quelle.
Dort, wo den Marmor küsst die Welle,
Wie oft es Thränenzorn geregnet,
Weil Assim's Gluth dem Stolz begegnet.

Und fragt den Lorbeer hoch und prächtig,
Wie rasch der Thränenzorn versiegte,
Der Stolz sich in die Fessel schmiegte,
Weil Assims Siegermuth allmächtig.
-- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- --
Dem Lorbeer gleichet Assim, dächt' ich!
