Liegt es wie Morgenthau.

Und in dem tiefsten Innern,
Da rieselt's wie ein Quell
Von Hoffen und Erinnern --
Wie schön ist das, wie hell!

O gold'ne Feierstunde! -- --
O komm, du heißer Mann,
Und küß' mir still vom Munde,
Was ich nicht sagen kann!

As if there had never before been
Such a luminous blue heaven;
Upon my entire life
Morning dew has fallen.

And in the deepest depths of my being
There is a rippling as of a waterspring
Of hope and remembrance -- --
How beautiful that is, how bright!

Oh golden hour of celebration! -- --
