Guten Tag, du schönes, schönes Mädchen, gieb mir doch dein liebes, liebes Händchen! Weißt, ich suche Epheu für mein Kämmerchen; darf ich wohl von deinem Epheu pflücken? Komm herein, du schöner, schöner Jäger; will dir vielen, vielen Epheu geben. Hinten um mein Fenster, um mein Kämmerchen, schlingt sich dicht der dunkle, dunkle Epheu. Kommt das kleine Brüderchen gelaufen: Schwesterchen, was will der große Jäger?! Und ich küßt es auf die scheue Stirne und ging still nach Hause in mein Kämmerchen — ich, der junge, junge Jägersmann.

Je te donnerai plein, plein de lierre ... Derrière ma fenêtre derrière ma chambrette, il s'y entasse le sombre, sombre lierre. Arrive en courant le petit frère : Petite sœur, que veut ce grand chasseur ? Et je l'embrassai sur son front pur et rentrai à la maison tranquillement, dans ma chambrette : moi, le jeune, jeune chasseur ...
