from Volkslieder (Folksongs)

Mein Schatzerl
Language: German (Deutsch)
Mein Schatzerl is wandern,
kummt nimmer nach Haus',
i tu' mir so grämen,
d'rum seh' i so aus.

Mein Schatzerl ist fort,
ist fort übern See,
i darf nit d'ran denke,
tut's Herzerl mir weh.

Mein Schatz ist in Ungarn,
und i steh' am Rhein,
do fällt mir mei Schatzerl
wohl tausendmal ein.

Zwei Entle im Teich
und zwei Fischle im See;
meine Liebschaft geht unter,
kommt nimmer in d'Höh'!

Was hilft mir a Apfel,
wenn er noch so rot ist,
was hilft a schön's Schatzerl,
wenn's bei mir nit ist.

Treu hab' i geliebet,
treu hab' i getan,
und mein Herzerl betrübet,
das hab' i ze Lohn.
