Das neue Haus ist aufgericht't,
Gedeckt, gemauert ist es nicht,
Noch können Regen und Sonnenschein
Von oben und überall herein:
Drum rufen wir zum Meister der Welt,
Er wolle von dem Himmelszelt
Nur Heil und Segen gießen aus
Hier über dieses offne Haus.
Zuoberst woll er gut Gedeihn
In die Kornböden uns verleihn;

In die Stube Fleiß und Frömmigkeit,
In die Küche Maß und Reinlichkeit,
In den Stall Gesundheit allermeist,
In den Keller dem Wein einen guten Geist;
Die Fenster und Pforten woll er weihn,
Daß nichts Unseligs komm herein,
Und daß aus dieser neuen Tür
Bald fromme Kindlein springen für.
Nun, Maurer, decket und mauret aus!
Der Segen Gottes ist im Haus.

La pluie et le soleil peuvent
Encore de là-haut partout entrer :
Aussi nous en appelons au maître du monde,
Pour que depuis la voûte céleste
Il veuille bien ne déverser que salut et bénédiction
Ici, sur cette maison ouverte
Que de tout là-haut il nous accorde
De prospères champs de blé ;

Dans la chambre, du zèle et de la piété,
Dans la cuisine, de la mesure et de la propreté
Dans l'étable, avant tout de la santé,
Dans la cave, un bon caractère au vin ;
Qu'il veuille bénir fenêtres et portes,
Afin que rien de funeste n'y entre,
Et que de cette nouvelle porte
Jaillissent bientôt de braves petits enfants.
