M’en vò, rimanti in pace, in Ciel t’attendo.
E in un co ’l dir nel suo tristo sembiante,
L’amata forma mi spario dinante.

schenk’ mir die letzten Küsse und sprich unter Tränen:
Ich verlasse dich, ach, und in diesem düstern Gehen
pflück’ ich diese letzten Liebesfrüchte.
O meine getreue, Gott mit dir, der Tod nimmt mich hinweg.
Ich fahr’ dahin, verbleib’ in Frieden, ich wart’ auf dich im Himmel.
Und als sie so mit betrübter Miene sprach,
entschwand das geliebte Bild aus meinem Blick.
