Soir d'été

Le soleil brûlait l'ombre et la terre altérée,
Au crépuscule errant demandait un peu d'eau ;
Chaque fleur de sa tête inclinait le fardeau
Sur la montagne encor dorée.

Pas une aile à l'azur ne demande à s'étendre,
Pas un enfant ne rôde aux vergers obscurcis,
Et dans tout ce grand calme et ces tons adoucis
Le moucheron pourrait s'entendre.
