Elle dort du poids de mes nuits.

Sortez doucement des étuis.

Des violons ca n’est pas la saison.

Chantez à son lit où je guette,
En ses soupirs son vœu d’un jour.
Jouez de mon cœur pour sa fête
Et que l’éveil soit son retour.

Elle ouvre les yeux et se jette
À mon cœur comme à son miroir.
Jouez violons pour ma fête,
Elle m‘aime et veut le savoir.

Des violons c’est la pleine saison.

spielt aus meinem Herz für ihr Fest,

Gekrönt mit Küssen auf das Haupt
Schläft sie zu Lasten meiner Nächte. 
Spielt, ihr Geigen für ihr Fest,
Steigt sacht aus euren Kästen.

Für Geigen ist jetzt keine Saison.

Singt an ihrem Bett, wo ich harre
ihren Seufzern und ihrem Wunsch nach dem einen Tag.
