by Albert Sergel (1876 - 1946)

Seid nun still, das Kind will beten
Language: German (Deutsch)
Our translations:  ENG
Seid nun still, das Kind will beten:
Lieber Gott, mach du mich fromm,
daß ich einst nach dieser Erde
zu dir in den Himmel komm.

Gib mir Vaters Kraft und Stärke,
Mutters Güte gib darein,
und laß über meinem Werke
allzeit deine Gnade sein.

Wollt nun um mein Bette treten,
lichte Engel, haltet Wacht,
bis ich selbst ein Engel werde . .
All ihr Lieben, gute Nacht!
