's Gebet
Language: Bavarian (Boarisch)
und is halt g'west so voller Andacht,
du hast scho bet't in aller Fruah!
Was hast jetzt bet't, des muasst ma sag'n,

The Prayer
Language: English  after the Bavarian (Boarisch)
A very young lass together with her mother
prayed in church on one Sunday
and did it with so much devotion
as if she had much need of it.
Her mother regarded that with much fondness
and said to her daughter after church:
"Thou art a very pious girl
that thou prayest so early in the morning!
What didst thou pray, my sweet darling,
thou oughtst to tell me that!"
And the lass replied to her question:
"That church might be over soon, that was my prayer!"
