Scheiden und Meiden
Language: German (Deutsch)
Ach Gott! wie fällt das Meiden
den jungen Herzen schwer!
Es gibt so bitt'res Leiden
auf Erden sonst nicht mehr,
als wenn in heißer Pein
sich wo zwei Liebe scheiden,
und müssen, ach!, allein
fern von einander sein.

Was hilft der Blumen Blühen
in voller Frühlingspracht?
Was frommt der Sonne Glühen
in schöner Sommernacht?
Sie sind ohn' Duft und Glanz,
wenn in des Herzens Mühen
der Freuden sel'ger Kranz
hinsiecht und welket ganz.

O schein', o Sonne, scheine
uns zwei zusammen neu,
verein' aufs neu, vereine,
was sich geliebt so treu
und liebt bis in den Tod;
o liebe Sonne, scheine,
dass schmilzt auf dein Gebot
der Trennung Winternot.
