Meine Berge ‑‑ meine Wälder
Language: German (Deutsch)
Our translations:  ENG

My mountains ‑‑ my woods

Add this translation to your Reprint Basket
You my mountains, my woods,
How you are so lofty, so beautiful!
Yea, how my heart again beats more boldly
Upon your free, proud heights!

When below me the green forests,
The depths still lie in slumber,
There in the blue aether
The proud eagle has long hovered already.

And above the sunlit ravines,
How the water-spring burbles so familiarly,
At whose foot the shepherd lad
Gazes into the valleys, singing brightly.

And over everything there lies a peace
And over everything lies joy,
So that your gaze soon shines like springtime
And you too, must rejoice brightly.
