Ist es nicht seltsam, daß ich von dem Wunsche
Nach ihr ergriffen bin? Ich frage, wo
Sie sein mag, – und sie ist doch ganz in mir!
Mit diesen Augen such ich sie, obgleich
Ihr Bild in diesen Augen lebt und webt.
Mein Herz schlägt heftiger bei dem Gedanken,
Daß ich sie wiedersehe, – und sie atmet
Doch zwischen meinen Rippen, ja, bei Gott!
