Schrieb die schöne Adelheid:
"Daß ich Euer Liebesleid
süß zu stillen mag geruh'n,
habt ihr folgendes noch zu tun:

Wenn die Abendwinde wehn,
müßt Ihr heut um sieben stehn,
unter meinem Fensterlein,1
aber nur auf einem Bein!"

Das Unglaubliche geschah!
Um punkt sieben stand er da!
Ganz allein auf einem Bein,2
stand er da im Mondenschein!

Lache keiner, der dies hört,
Lieb' hat jeden schon betört,
jedem schlägt sein Stündlein fein,
da er tanzt auf einem Bein!

La bella Adelaida escrigué:
“A fi que pugui dignar-me a calmar
la vostra pena d’amor,
heu de fer el següent:

quan bufi el vent del capvespre,
a les set heu de ser 
sota la meva finestra,
però estar damunt una sola cama!”

L’increïble s’esdevingué!
A les set en punt ell era allà!
Tot sol damunt una sola cama,
s’aguantava a la llum de la lluna!

Que ningú rigui al sentir això,
l’amor ens ha enfollit a tots,
a tots els arriba l’hora
de ballar amb una sola cama!
