Umzug
Language: German (Deutsch)
Our translations:  ENG
Hollahe und holdrio!
Heute sind wir Kinder froh,
halten Umzug durch die Stadt,
wie mans nie gesehen hat.

Ferdinand und Wolf und Peter
ziehn voran als Stabstrompeter,
Trommler ist der lange Hans
Und die Becken schlägt der Franz.

Eine Eskadron Ulanen
schwenkt die bunten Lanzenfahnen,
kommandiert von Sattlers Fritz;
gravitätisch folgt der Spitz.

Ah! nun kommt die Staatskarosse,
vorneweg vier muntre Rosse;
lächelnd thront Schön-Inge drin
als des Festes Königin.

Edeldamen sind erschienen,
sie geziemend zu bedienen:
Lieselotte und Marie,
Else, Käte und Sofie.

Hinterdrein, schaut euch nur um,
zieht ein großes Publikum.
Hollahe und holdrio!
Gings doch alle Tage so!

Parade
Language: English  after the German (Deutsch)
Hooray and hurrah!
Today we children are happy;
we're going on parade through the city;
one has never seen the like of it.

Ferdinand and Wolf and Peter
are leading the way as trumpet majors,
tall Hans is the drummer
and Franz is beating the cymbals.

A squadron of Uhlans
waves the colourful flags on their lances,
commanded by Sattler's Fritz;
[the dog] Spitz follows gravely.

Ah! here comes the state carriage
with four lively horses in front of it;
inside, beautiful Inge sits enthroned
as the queen of festival.

Noble ladies have appeared
to wait upon her, as is appropriate:
Lieselotte and Marie,
Elsie, Katie and Sophie.

Behind them all, just look around,
comes a great multitude.
Hooray and hurrah!
If only all days could be like this!
