Wenn die Seel' in tiefe Stille
versunken ist, wenn ganz ihr Wille
der Wille dess ist, der sie liebt;
wenn ihr inniges Vertrauen,
ihr freudig Hoffen faßt zum Schauen
empor steigt; wenn sie wieder liebt,
und nun wahrhaft weiß,
dein Kampf und Todesschweiß,
Gottversöhner, dein Blut am Kreuz,
dein Tod am Kreuz,
versöhn', o Herr, versöhn' auch sie.

O! dann ist ihr schon gegeben
ihr neuer Nam' und ewig's Leben
Im Himmel ist ihr Wandeln dann.
Stark, den Streit des Herrn zu streiten,
sieht sie die Krone schon von weiten
am Ziel und betet an.
Preis, Ehr und Stärke' und Kraft
sei dem, der uns erschafft!
Ihm zu leben, für uns verbürgt
bist du erwürgt;
Anbetung, Ruhm und Dank sei dir!

Kun sielu on kokonaan vajonnut hiljaiseen
rukoukseen, kun sen tahto on kokonaan
Hänen tahtonsa, joka sitä rakastaa;
kun sielun luja luottamus
ja iloinen toivo ovat nähtävissä,
kun tämä sielu taas osaa rakastaa,
ja nyt totisesti ymmärtää
sinun taistelusi ja verisen hikesi,
