 Der mit Sünden beleidigte Heiland
 vergießt zur Vergebung der Sünden sein Blut.

 Ja, mit mehr als erstaunlichen Qualen,
 die Schuld der Beleidiger selbst zu bezahlen,
 ist das Wunder der Liebe, das er an uns thut.

RECITATIVO
 Ja, ja! mein Heiland wird beschnitten,
 damit er das Gesetz,
 das Menschen überschritten,
 für alle Menschen zu erfüllen,
 und auch, durch bittres Leiden,
 des Vaters Zorn zu stillen,
 sich willig, emsig, eifrig zeigen mag.
 Drum wallt und klopft mein Herz vor Freuden.

 Ach, göttlich's Menschenkind!
 an deiner frühen Pein kann ich,
 mit frohem Mute,
 mich höchst erquickend weiden;
 denn itzt bricht mein Erlösungstag,
 in deinem ersten Blute,
 mit seinem Morgenroth herein.

ARIA
 In deines Blutes kleinen Wellen
 strömt mir, aus unergründten Quellen,
 ein großes Meer der Gnaden zu.

 Hier schiffet mein Glaube
 bey sicher'm Beschirmen,
