Pour marraine elle eut Astarté,
Pour patronne elle a la Madone,
Car elle est belle autant que bonne,
  Celle que j'aime.

Elle écoute, rit et pardonne,
N'écoutant que par charité ;
Elle écoute, mais sa fierté
N'écoute ni moi ni personne,

que Flora i que Pomona
i sé per haver-ho cantat
que la seva boca és el capvespre de tardor
i el seu esguard la nit d’estiu.

Per padrina ella ha tingut Astarte,
per patrona la Madona,
car ella és tant bella com bona,
     la que jo estimo.

Ella escolta, riu i perdona,
escoltant només per caritat;
ella escolta, però la seva altivesa
no escolta ni a mi ni a ningú,
i res encara no ha intentat
     la que jo estimo.
