O moeder maagd, wieg verder
Het goddelijk kind, en wakker in zijn ogen
Het schijnsel der hemelen aan!
Vanuit zijn blik -- dat hemels gloren --
Schijnt boven jouw voorhoofd, zo zuiver en blozend
Een stralenkrans te ontbloeien!
 
O god de redder, mijn stem roept u,
O god der engelen,
