Schwarz Äugelein verwunden schnell, Sie lodern leicht und brennen hell, Doch kenn' ich wohl zwei Äugelein, In die schau' ich mit Lust hinein. Zwei Äuglein sind so sinnig, So treu, so voller Herz, So hold und so liebinnig, So freudvoll, so voll Schmerz, Das sind, o Lieb', die Augen dein, In die schau' ich mit Lust hinein, Und weiss es nicht, du liebes Kind, Ob schwarz, ob blau dein Äuglein sind. Die schönsten Augen trügen, Wie alle Sternelein, Mit ihrem Feuer lügen Sie sich in's Herz hinein.
