Oh, no malparleu dels sofriments de la vida! Mireu les fulles quan moren en la daurada llum de la tardor, és que no tenen colors més rics que a la primavera? Què pot igualar la ufanor de la mort en l’hàlit del vent d’octubre? Més cristal•lines que les més clares aigües, resplendeixen les llàgrimes que brollen dels ulls, més intensa i fosca flameja la vermellor del capvespre que la claror del sol a migdia, i ningú besa tan ferventment com aquells que s’han de separar per sempre.
