Mirad las hojas; cuando mueren, ¿no brillan con la dorada luz del otoño más ricas que en la primavera? ¿Qué puede igualar al fruto que desaparece cuando sopla el viento de octubre? Más cristalinas que la más clara corriente resplandecen las lágrimas en los ojos, más profunda arde la llama vespertina que la claridad del sol en pleno día, y nadie besa con besos tan ardientes a aquél que tiene que partir para siempre.
