by (Carl Friedrich) Julius Altmann (1814 - 1873)

Frühlingsdrang
Language: German (Deutsch)
[Wann der gold'ne]1 Lenz erscheint,
mächtig alle Pulse beben,
jedes Herz vor Wonne meint,
in den Himmel müss' es schweben.

Alles nimmt zum Licht den Lauf,
Wolken weben hoch im Blauen,
Nebel wallen berghinauf
von den morgenfrischen Auen!

Auf aus Blüten hebt sich Duft,
alle Baumgewipfel beben,
Lerchen steigen in die Luft,
Quellen schäumend aufwärts streben.

Und mein Herz auch in der Brust
greift ein Drang, hinauf zu schweben
an den Quell des Lichts, der Lust,
in das ew'ge, sel'ge Leben!
