Palmström

Palmström steht an einem Teiche
und entfaltet groß ein rotes Taschentuch:
Auf dem Tuch ist eine Eiche
dargestellt sowie ein Mensch mit einem Buch.

Palmström wagt nicht, sich hineinzuschneuzen. -
Er gehört zu jenen Käuzen,
die oft unvermittelt-nackt
Ehrfurcht vor dem Schönen packt.

Zärtlich faltet er zusammen,
was er eben erst entbreitet.
Und kein Fühlender wird ihn verdammen, 
weil er ungeschneuzt entschreitet.

Palmström

Palmström se tient au bord d'un étang
et déplie en grand un mouchoir rouge :
Sur le tissu sont représentés un chêne
et un homme avec un livre.

Palmström n'ose pas s'y moucher
Il fait partie de ces olibrius
qui souvent sont soudain
saisis d'un profond respect devant la beauté.

Il replie délicatement
ce qu'il vient tout juste de déplier.
Et aucune âme sensible ne le condamnera
parce qu'il se retire morveux.
