Notturno
Language: German (Deutsch)
Stille Nacht!
Mondschein schwebet auf der Aue,
Und die Vöglein schlummern alle,
Leise rauscht in sanftem Falle
Nur der Fluß, der nebelgraue,
Er nur wacht!

Wellenmund
Weiß bei sanftem Mondenschimmer
Holder Märchen ja so viele,
Von der Nixen muntrem Spiele,
Von der Zauberburg Geflimmer
Auf dem Grund.

Mondenschein
Strahlt in Liebchens Fenster helle,
Engel scheuchen Sorg und Kummer,
Und sie ruht in süßem Schlummer.
Wieg' in Träume, muntre Welle
Leis' sie ein.

Confirmed with Lust und Leid im Liede, ed. by Hedwig Dohm und F. Brunold, Leipzig und Berlin: R. F. Albrecht, 1879, page 244.
