Zu Bacharach am Rheine
da steht ein hohes Schloß,
da hauste bei Lied und Weine
der Burggraf und sein Troß.
Das Fräulein schaute vom Söller
voll Sehnsucht über den Rhein,
die Schifflein fuhren vorüber
im hellen Mondenschein,
die Schifflein fuhren vorüber
zu Bacharach am Rhein.

Zu Bacharach am Rheine
da liegt in Trümmern Schloß,
da haust nicht mehr beim Weine
der Burggraf und sein Troß.
kein Fräulein schaut von dem Söller
voll Sehnsucht über den Rhein,
die Schifflein fuhren vorüber
im hellen Mondenschein,
die Schifflein fuhren vorüber
zu Bacharach am Rhein.

Wohl sank die Burg in Trümmer
zu Bacharach am Rhein,
doch lustig grünen die Reben
und golden perlet der Wein.
Und wo ein Fräulein klaget
ihr Leid im Mondenschein,
die soll zu dieser Stunde
von uns getröstet sein.
