Lumessa loistaa koko luonto, sieluni valossa kirkastuu, heljinä helkkyvät aurinko haaveet, poissa on yö ja murhe muu. Kiillä sieluni kirkkaana jäässä, kulje yksin kuin talvinen kuu, seiso kuin jäähtyvä, jäykkä, kaunis kristallikruunuinen nuori puu!

Reifbedeckt steht die eiserne Eiche, blüht im Winter des Frühlings Baum, Über dem silbernen Ahorn glänzt der kalte Mond in dem Himmelsraum. Schneelicht -- umsponnen schimmert die Flur, es zittert mein Herz im verklärten Traum, Heiter umstrahlen mir sonnige Bilder, Sorge und Nacht sind eitel Schaum. Strahle Seele, lustwandle einsam, gleich dem Monde am Wolkensaum, Steh gleich dem stolzen, vom Schneekristallen gekrönten jungen Eichenbaum!
