Frag: ob auf ewig das Meer soll uns scheiden, Ob er das Herz mir brechen will. Hin nach der Seine Strom willst du nun eilen, Tauscheft für Freiheit dir die Freude ein, Doch soll auch Trug und Flattersinn dort weilen, Und über weinende Unschuld sich freun. Am heiligen Abend vorm Osterfest bin ich's allerletztemal recht lustig gewest. Und wie die Männer haben das Fest eingeläutet, da hat sich ein Gram in mir verbreitet. Am heiligen Abend vorm Osterfest ist er's allerletztemal noch bei mir gewest, Und seit er freundlich von mir hat Abschied genommen, ist bei mir das Weinen angekommen. Da hat sich mir etwas gesetzt ins Herz, das zerreißt es immerdar und ist doch kein Schmerz, Das hat der roten Wange Farb all mir entwendet, und hat mir die bleiche hergesendet. Den heiligen Abend vergeß ich nicht, bis der allerletzte Gram das Herz mir zerbricht; Ach, kommt er wieder, will ich ihn eng unfassen und will ihn mein Tag nicht von mir lassen.
