Drei Lieder aus "Hermann Lauscher"

Song Cycle by Emil Anner (1870 - 1925)

1. Jugendflucht
 (Sung text)

Language: German (Deutsch)
Der müde Sommer senkt das Haupt
Und schaut sein falbes Bild im See.
Ich wandle müde und bestaubt
Im Schatten der Allee.

Durch Pappeln geht ein zager Wind,
Der Himmel hinter mir ist rot,
Und vor mir Abendängste sind
- Und Dämmerung - und Tod.

Ich wandle müde und bestaubt,
Und hinter mir bleibt zögernd stehn
Die Jugend, neigt das schöne Haupt
Und will nicht fürder mit mir gehn.

Text Authorship:

  • by Hermann Hesse (1877 - 1962), "Jugendflucht", written 1897, appears in Hermann Lauscher

2. Ich will mich tief verneigen
 (Sung text)

Language: German (Deutsch)
Ich will mich tief verneigen
Vor dir und ziehen den Hut,
Ich will dir Lieder geigen
Rot wie Rosen und rot wie Blut.

Ich will mich vor dir bücken,
Wie man vor Fürstinnen tut,
Und will dich mit Rosen schmücken,
Mit Rosen rot wie Blut.

Ich will auch zu dir beten,
Wie man vor Heiligen kniet,
Mit meiner wilden, verschmähten
Liebe und meinem Lied.

Text Authorship:

  • by Hermann Hesse (1877 - 1962), no title, appears in Hermann Lauscher, first published 1900

3. Deinem Blick darf meiner nicht begegnen  [sung text not yet checked]

Language: German (Deutsch)
Deinem Blick darf meiner nicht begegnen,
Meine Seele, die so viel gelitten,
Darf nicht deine reine Seele bitten:
Wolle die verlorene Schwester segnen!

Leise nur im allertiefsten Innern
Darf sie einst gewesener Schwesterzeiten,
Ferner Liebe, ferner Seligkeiten,
Schweigend und verzweifelnd sich erinnern.

Text Authorship:

  • by Hermann Hesse (1877 - 1962), no title, appears in Hermann Lauscher, in Vier Marienlieder des Ritters Tannhäuser (als Nachtrag zu den Notturni), no. 4
