Über den Sommer : 7 Lieder

Song Cycle by Wolfgang Nening (b. 1966)

1. Sommerabend  [sung text not yet checked]

Language: German (Deutsch)
Die große Sonne ist versprüht,
der Sommerabend liegt im Fieber,
und seine heiße Wange glüht.
Jach seufzt er auf: "Ich möchte lieber ..."
Und wieder dann: "Ich bin so müd ..."

Die Büsche beten Litanein,
Glühwürmchen hangt, das regungslose,
dort wie ein ewiges Licht hinein;
und eine kleine weiße Rose
trägt einen roten Heiligenschein.

  • by Rainer Maria Rilke (1875 - 1926), "Sommerabend"

5. Sommerabende  [sung text not yet checked]

Language: German (Deutsch)
Sommerabende, ihr lauen,
Bettet mich auf eure Kissen,
Laßt in Fernen, dunkelblauen,
Meiner Träume Wimpel hissen.

Stunden, die am Tag sich placken,
Feiern nächtlich froh verwegen,
Und ich fühl um meinen Nacken
Zärtlich sich zwei Arme legen.

Ist die Seele liebeswund?
Heißren Atem haucht der Flieder,
Und der rote Himmelsmund
Neigt sich üppig zu mir nieder.

Text Authorship:

  • by Alfred Henschke (1890 - 1928), as Jucundus Fröhlich Klabund, no title, appears in Der himmlische Vagant, no. 9
