Und enge wird mir Stub' und Haus, Und [wenn]1 ich lauf' zum Thor hinaus, Da lockst du gar ins frische Grün Die allerschönsten Mädchen hin! O Sonnenschein! I estretes també em semblen l'estança i la casa, i quan surto a fora pel portal, allà, a la fresca gespa verda, has encativat les noies més boniques! Oh llum del sol! Creus de veritat que hauria de fer com tu i besar totes les formoses flors que s'obren per tu? Has contemplat el món tant de temps i saps que per a mi això no és adient; per què doncs em fas patir tant? Oh llum del sol! Oh llum del sol!
