Damunt el tossal m’he assegut i els ocells he contemplat; ells han cantat han saltironat, han fet llurs nius. En un jardí he restat i les abelles he contemplat; elles han brunzit, han bugonat, han bastit un rusc. A través del prat he caminat per veure els ocells de l’estiu; ells han menjat, han volat, i tot ho han fet tan formosament. I llavors ha vingut el Hansel, i semblava molt content, ell es movia i reia encara més, i feia també com ells.
