French (Français) translations of Fyra sånger, opus 11

by Ernest Pingoud (1887 - 1942)

Return to the original list

1. En blomma  [sung text not yet checked]
by Ernest Pingoud (1887 - 1942), "En blomma", op. 11 (Fyra sånger) no. 1 [ voice and piano ]
Language: Swedish (Svenska)
Hon spirade upp vid korsets fot
på enslig grav,
ett brustet hjärta åt hennes rot
sin livssaft gav.

Hon blickade ljuvligt, hon nickade täckt
med tårstänkt kalk för nattlig vind:
den bleka purpurn i hennes dräkt
har skimrat förr på en flickas kind.

Det lästes en gåta i ungmöns blick,
som snart var stoft;
en yngling vid graven tydningen fick
i blommans doft.

qui rapidement devint poussière ;
un jeune homme près de la tombe en eut la clé
dans le parfum de la fleur.

2. Vattenplask
 (Sung text)
by Ernest Pingoud (1887 - 1942), "Vattenplask", op. 11 (Fyra sånger) no. 2 (1922-3), published 1925 [ voice and piano ]
Language: Swedish (Svenska)
Invid palatsen
lagunens vatten
melodiskt skvalpar
i sommarnatten.

En solbrynt gosse
i sliten kappa
behagligt hvilar
på dogens trappa.

Och böljan hviskar
invid den lille
som något hemligt
hon säga ville:

"Se kungasonen!
Se gudars like!
Men skall han ärfva
sitt kungarike?

Hur än vi vandra
kring världens länder,
vid hafvets kuster,
vid floders stränder,

vi ana furstar,
där barn vi blicke,
men vuxna kungar
vi finna icke."

2. Le clapotis de l'eau
Language: French (Français)
Auprès du palais
l'eau de la lagune
clapote mélodieusement
dans la nuit d'été.

Un garçon basané
dans un manteau élimé
se délasse gracieusement
sur les marches du doge.

Et les vagues murmurent
à côté du petit
comme pour lui dire
quelque secret :

« Vois le fils du roi !
Il est l'égal des dieux !
Mais héritera-t-il
de son royaume ?

Où que nous allions,
pays du monde,
rivages des mers,
berges des rivières,

nous pressentons des princes,
là où nous voyons des enfants,
mais ceux devenus rois,
nous n'en trouvons pas.
