French (Français) translations of Vier Lieder, opus 8

by Carl Schultz

Return to the original list

1. Mein Liebchen, wir saßen beisammen  [sung text not yet checked]
by Carl Schultz , "Mein Liebchen, wir saßen beisammen", op. 8 (Vier Lieder) no. 1
Language: German (Deutsch)
Mein Liebchen, wir sassen beisammen,
Traulich im leichten Kahn.
Die Nacht war still, und wir schwammen
Auf weiter Wasserbahn.

Die Geisterinsel, die schöne,
Lag dämm'rig im Mondenglanz;
Dort klangen liebe Töne,
Dort wogte der Nebeltanz.

Dort klang es lieb und lieber,
Und wogt' es hin und her;
Wir aber schwammen vorüber,
Trostlos auf weitem Meer.

Language: French (Français)
Ma chérie, nous étions assis ensemble,
Bien installés dans une légère barque,
La nuit était calme et nous voguions
Sur une large voie d'eau.

L'Île des Esprits, si belle,
S'étendait, brumeuse au clair de lune ;
Là-bas s'élevaient de tendres mélodies,
Là-bas ondulait la danse de la brume.

Les mélodies étaient de plus en plus tendres
Et les danses de la brume ondulaient çà et là ;
Mais nous passâmes devant,
Attristés, en route vers la haute mer.
