1. Hoor nou 's wat ze zingen
Language: Dutch (Nederlands)
Hoor nou 's wat ze zingen
Het lied van jou en mij
't Begint langzaam door te dringen:
 "Voorbij, voorbij, voorbij..."

Ik vlucht voor die wrede klanken
 Val thuis aan tafel neer
En draai om bij te janken
 Weer telkens "Telkens Weer'.

2. Und wüßten's die Blumen, die kleinen  [sung text not yet checked]
by L. Deland , "Und wüßten's die Blumen, die kleinen", op. 3 (Vier Lieder von Heine) no. 3
Language: German (Deutsch)
Und wüßten's die Blumen, die kleinen,
Wie tief verwundet mein Herz,
Sie würden mit mir weinen,
Zu heilen meinen Schmerz.

Und wüßten's die Nachtigallen,
Wie ich so traurig und krank,
Sie ließen fröhlich erschallen
Erquickenden Gesang.

Und wüßten sie mein Wehe,
Die [goldnen]1 Sternelein,
Sie kämen aus ihrer Höhe,
Und sprächen Trost mir ein.

[Die]2 alle können's nicht wissen,
Nur [eine]3 kennt meinen Schmerz;
[Sie]4 hat ja selbst zerrissen,
Zerrissen mir das Herz.

2. En stel dat de bloemetjes raadden
Language: Dutch (Nederlands)
En stel dat de bloemetjes raadden
Hoe diep mijn hart is verwond
Dan groeiden daar weer zaden
Tot rozen uit mijn mond

En stel de de vogels wisten
Hoe diepgezonken ik ben
Ze floten: `Laat je niet kisten
En grijp weer naar de pen!'

En zagen maan en sterren
Dat inktzwarte hart van mij
Verscheen zelfs de zon van verre
En lichtte mij wat bij

Dus blijf ik ondergedoken
Maar eentje kent mijn verdriet
Die heeft dat hart gebroken
En lijmen kan ze niet.

3. Een zwoelige zomermorgen
Language: Dutch (Nederlands)
 Een zwoelige zomermorgen
Liep ik de tuin weer eens rond
Een vogel ging fluitend ten onder
Ik hield sinds mei mijn mond.

 Toen ritselden rozen onrustig
 En sprak de kleinste pioen:
`Wees toch niet boos op ons zusje,
Jouw roos kon hier niets aan doen!'
