by (Christian) Friedrich Hebbel (1813 - 1863)

Das Bettelmädchen
Language: German (Deutsch)
Das Bettelmädchen [lauscht]1 am Thor,
Es friert sie gar zu sehr;
Der junge Ritter tritt hervor,
Er wirft ihr hin den Mantel
Und spricht: was willst du mehr?

Das Mädchen sagt kein einzig Wort,
Es friert sie gar zu sehr;
Dann geht sie stolz und glühend fort
Und läßt den Mantel liegen,
Und spricht: ich will Nichts mehr!
